Angel in Disguise ...

This hat was given to all conference attendess, in lieu (I guess?) of the more usual conference T-Shirt. Every girl needs a hot pink cowboy hat. Particularly to wear with your Rome Zoo T-Shirt.

In the middle of August, Daddy and Matilda had another special bonding weekend while Mummy went to Creative Memories' consultant conference, Showcase, at the Gold Coast. The weekend had a pink (with a bit of bright orange) theme. On the first night, Mummy and her team dressed up as "Angels in Disguise" - wings, horns, hot pink tutus, and badges, with breast cancer pink T-Shirts and dark pants. When Mummy got home, it was Matilda's turn to try out Mummy's costume ... here she is with the wings and the horns!

Not about Matilda

Just thought I'd let everyone know, I now have my very own Creative Memories website - mycmsite.com.au/ktaylor. You can browse the full range of Creative Memories products, check out my upcoming events, and even order products. So cool.
On an album related note, I will be FINALLY starting M's album soon. We have so many photos, got to start putting them somewhere other than the hard drive and photo sorting box. :) I've just got to finish working on Grandad Moore's album ... then it'll be all about Matilda.

Feeling a bit better

M's starting to feel better now. We're well under way with the Amoxil doses, and have scaled back the Panadol. If necessary, there's a bit of Dimetapp around bedtime, to help dry up the nose (otherwise if she wakes during the night, you can find her headl lying in a damp spot, poor thing - must be horrid when you can't blow your nose). No waking up last night through the night ... we'll see how tonight goes. I've got a cold now, so not keen on spending too much time awake in the middle of the night.

Over the weekend, I was at the annual CM consultant conference. There was lots of great training, inspiring speakers, AWESOME product launches, and a sneak peek of a future digital product ...
Hopefully within the next few days, I'll be able to add a link to my very own CM website. So cool. At the Gala Dinner on Sat night, I ran into my brother Cam and sister Peta. They were at a Thiess fundraiser in the room next door! Who'da thunk it?

Tomorrow's People's day at the Ekka. We haven't seriously thought about taking M to the Ekka, but ever since I said to John "you aren't going to the Ekka, are you?", he's wanted to go. Unlikely to happen at this stage. Hopefully we'll hold out for another year or two ... or if we don't, we'll only be looking at animals and the like, no rides or bags! I'm so harsh. ;)

Weekends away and starting solids

Last weekend, M and I went on a Creative Memories scrapbooking retreat. I wasn't sure about taking M with me (most of the ladies there are Mums, and the weekend away is not only to work on their albums, but to get away from their kids!!!), but it worked out fairly well. She just started sleeping through again (finally) last week, but of course didn't on the weekend. On Sunday morning, I realised that she must be growing through a growth spurt, so figured out how to deal with that. On the whole, M coped very well, and enjoyed playing and having lots of cuddles with the ladies. I even got some album pages done - and they weren't about M. I've started our 2001 family memories album; I'm going to wait another month or two before starting M's album, as I think there's some exciting new products on the way ...
With the growth spurt in mind, on Sunday night, we tried M with some rice cereal mixed with a bit of breast milk. She ate it all, making some very exciting faces along the way (what is this mushy stuff in my mouth? it tastes a bit like milk, but it's more squodgy?). We were very excited that our journey to solids was on the way. On Monday afternoon, I tried a bit more farex, but it was perhaps too quickly after M's afternoon tea, and she did not take to it well. Either that, or she'd sussed us out and suspected us of poisoning her *joke*. We tried farex a couple more times for the next few days, then last night tried some organic pumpkin and wild rice (freebie in a baby bag). This also didn't go down well - M clamped her jaws shut and kept turning her head. I wasn't sure if this was a "I don't like it, not ready for it" signal or a "Not really very keen on this mushy stuff you keep shoving in my mouth" signal. I tried again this afternoon, as that's generally M's hungriest time - she wakes up from her pre-dinner catnap adamantly requesting food. After many attempts, I thought our best plan of action might be to smear her bib with food, and let her suck it off ... but something happened, and she finished the two teaspoons of food I'd scooped out for her!! There was pumpkin on her feet, on me, all over her face ... but I hope at least half of it made it into her tummy ... :)
I'll post pics later ...
